一套所羅門群島新娘貝珠服飾與設計草稿。在聘禮交換儀式中,新娘的父母為她準備全套貝珠服飾當嫁妝。紅色的貝珠特別貴重,代表了血,亦即生命力,因此結婚、見血的賠償時常以貝珠錢來代表「人」的生命。
A set of shell money clothing for the bride and a design sketch in the Solomon Islands. In the ritual of bridewealth exchange, the bride’s parents prepare a suit of shell money clothing as dowry for her. The red shell bead is the most valued; it represents blood, and therefore vitality. Hence, in marriage and in instances where compensation involves blood, the red shell bead is used to represents “human” life.
